The food and the atmosphere are great and they serve the most delicious Margarita in the City. The decoration is “old Mexican Style” Try the prawn / beef / chicken or vegetarian Fajitas (or ask for a combination)

Teppan Yaki Kobe House,

(Japanese – Centrum)

One of the best Japanese places in town. The atmosphere is nice, the decoration modern and you get to enjoy a “Teppan Yaki” knife-show from the chefs as they prepare dinner at the restaurant tables in front of your noses!

An excellent place to get some lunch or dinner. They serve quality food, quickly and cheaply. The service is fast and friendly. The Dutch film ‘Oysters of NamKee’ has made their speciality oysters a must! (*Cash Customers Only)

A chain of steakhouses with restaurants across Amsterdam. Not really a place to take a vegetarian, the meat is fresh and juicy. They are very proud of their own Argentinian beef!

Real quality traditional Italian food with a view through to the open kitchen. Well worth checking for the ‘specials menu’ which offers seasonal varieties, and the tasty pastas. Warm friendly atmosphere. Usually busy.

This place is for fish lovers. A large variety of fish and seafood are served quickly and efficiently - the service is really good! (Nice place for an intimate dinner...)

Kantjil en de Tijger ,

A large light and bustling restaurant serving a variety of Indonesian dishes. The atmosphere is vibrant and suited to groups. They recently added a small takeaway ‘Kantijl to Go’ – for less than 5 euros you can get a box containing rice / noodles and a sauce (or two) – to go!

Garlic Queen

Garlic is the name of the game here. Starters, main courses and desserts all contain the magic ingredient, luckily however, if you do not like garlic they can prepare your dinner without. But then why bother? Try the garlic ice-cream!

Authentic Portuguese food with friendly and attentive service. This well respected family restaurant offers a wide variety of dishes, and does them well. Nice for a quiet relaxing dinner.

For real Balkan speciality cooking and service with a smile, this is the place to go. Large groups are welcome in this restaurant, which is family friendly, there is wheelchair access and even a few seats outside!

The terrace of this restaurant looks out into an open space shared with other bars and cafes. In the summer there are plenty of street entertainers, and it’s a nice place to eat ‘mezedes’ – Greek snacks all sold for the same price – just check the board!

This impressive, red multi-storeyed pagoda-style Chinese restaurant has huge views across the Ij River. The whole restaurant is super-decorated – an experience to eat in – book a window seat for a night to remember in Amsterdam. Perhaps not the best Chinese food in Amsterdam – but a view you will definitely remember!

This small family restaurant is out of the centrum, but provides authentically cooked and presented Ethiopian food. The dishes are served onto a large platter which was been layered with a doughy breads so the whole table eats from the same bowl. Go on use your hands! Very cheap & great value & fun.

This tiny Thai restaurant is well worth a visit. The service is excellent, the food glorious and even the plates have been individually hand painted… differently! Beat that! Very popular – I recommend you reserve!
